Sign up today for this amazing race through scenic, historic neighborhoods of Richmond's North Side. The racecourse starts and finishes on the front lawn of Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU's Brook Road Campus (2924 Brook Road, Richmond, VA 23220).


Race day fun will include live music, food trucks, free activities for kids, and more.

Registration for Four Miles For Kids is broken down by age groups, with a price increase on September 1st.

Participants who have been patients at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU at any time in their lives are invited to register as Patient Champions for $5.

Adults 18 and up are $20 until September 15 or $25 after, children 5-17 are $10 until September 8 or $15 after, and children 5 and under are free.

The first 700 registrants will also receive a race t-shirt. Note: Children 5 and under who sign up with the free registration will not receive a t-shirt, race bib, or other giveaway items.

Race Day Fun

The Nitty-Gritty


Packet Pick-Up will be Friday, October 2 from 4pm - 6pm at the Brook Road Campus of Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond, VA.


An ambulance will be present for any emergencies, police will be directing traffic along the course, and two water stations will be available to keep you hydrated. The following will NOT be allowed: bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, dogs and unregistered runners. Strollers and iPods are allowed.


Four Miles For Kids will be timed by Mettle Events using the ChronoTrack B-Tag, a single-use bib tag. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is: 1) clearly visible on the front of your torso; 2) unaltered and unmodified (not folded or wrinkled); 3) pinned in all four corners; and 4) not covered by a jacket, runner belt, water bottle, etc. Official results will be posted on this website following the race.


Plaques and tiles hand-painted by patients of Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU will be given to the top three male and female runners in the race, the top male and female in each age group, and the top three fundraisers. 


All race participants and spectators must park in the assigned lot at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare on Sherwood Avenue (across from Hospital). Handicap parking or for those with special needs is available at the Children's Hospital of Richmond lot.



The Four Miles For Kids race course is flat and winds through the historic neighborhoods of Richmond's Northside.
